My daughter does home care for a lady that smokes. The smoke smell on my daughter's clothes and in her car is a serious issue. Is there anything we can do to take care of the odor, and also to protect my daughter's health from the effects of second hand smoke?

Hello, I listen to a home repair type show on AM1130 on Saturday and Sundays that recommends a product called OdorXit for things like cigarette smoke or pet odors. Don't know if you can find it locally at maybe a hardware store, but otherwise places like eBay or Amazon should carry it. As for clothes, a good quality detergent should get rid of the smell or possibly a fabric freshener such as Febreeze. There are auto detail shops that can get things like smoke smell out of a car but might be sort of expensive. It's an ozone process that can be tough on the interior fabrics but is pretty commonly used by car dealers when they take in a trade of a car that's been used by a smoker. I don't know how workplace and employee rules apply to home card, but I suppose at least asking that the person not smoke in your daughter's presence would help.
